Sapphire R9-285 ITX Compact OC Edition – Review
Testing
After fitting the Sapphire R9-285 Compact OC, it was finally time to put it to the test. The specifications of the test machine have not yet changed. A fresh installation of Windows 8.1 and latest drivers were installed. For the games that I could, I used the built-in benchmarking facilities to see how the game played, running the game at the maximum presets to maintain a common graphical level. Three runs of each test were run with an average of all results taken.

Hitman Absolution
Hitman Absolution is an action-adventure game, where the player once again takes on the role of Agent 47, a Hitman employed by the International Contracts Agency. I used the built-in benchmarking tool with the Ultra pre-set selected running at 1920×1080 and no other options changed.
Metro Last Light
Metro: Last Light is a single-player first-person shooter video game with survival horror and stealth elements, developed by Ukrainian studio 4A Games. Once again the built-in benchmark was used at Very High settings at a resolution of 1920×1080, DirectX 11 enabled, Texture filtering set at AF 4X; Tessellation set to Normal, Motion Blur also set to Normal and finally SSAA: OFF.
Sleeping Dogs
Sleeping Dogs was the next game of choice, an open world action game released in 2012 it is a game that received lots of positive press and is a game that when the settings are turned up can still stress graphics cards extremely well. For this test, the game was set to the Extreme preset with a resolution of 1920×1080, the in-game benchmark was used to obtain the scores.
Tomb Raider
Tomb Raider was next, the in-built benchmark utility was used to get the results below, with all benchmarks being run at ultimate (W/TRESSFX) and ultra settings (W/O TRESSFX) at 1920×1080 resolution.
