Sapphire R9-285 ITX Compact OC Edition – Review
3DMark 11
3DMark 11 is a DirectX 11 video card benchmark test for measuring your PC’s gaming performance. 3DMark 11 makes extensive use of DirectX 11 features including tessellation, compute shaders and multi-threading. Trusted by gamers worldwide to give accurate and unbiased results, 3DMark 11 consistently and reliably tests your PC’s DirectX 11 performance under game-like loads.
For this program I use the standard Extreme and Performance test sets to get a result.
3D Mark Firestrike
Fire Strike is a showcase DirectX 11 benchmark designed for today’s high-performance gaming PCs. It is our most ambitious and technical benchmark ever, featuring real-time graphics rendered with detail and complexity far beyond what is found in other benchmarks and games today.
Temperature and Noise
When I unboxed the Sapphire Radeon R9-285 Compact OC, I had hoped that Sapphire would equip it with a cooler that would be powerful enough to contain the 190W Tonga core. However I was actually really surprised after running these tests and playing games in general, that even after several hours of solid gaming, the card had only just hit 78°C. When the card hits these higher temperatures however, it does begin to get a little noisy, which is to be expected when the size of the fan is taken into account.
