Netgear D6200 Wireless Router Review
Packaging
Working in IT for almost seven years I can tell you that the packaging Netgear uses for routers and the like hasn’t really changed much. The D6200 does not break this mould and comes in a fairly basic box.
It features a bit of information about the router, including key features etc. One thing of note is that it mentions “for phone line connections” which is a bit of a misnomer but we will take a look at that later.
The rear of the box goes into the features in more depth, and includes a breakdown of what some of them mean.
So far so good.
The router itself also looks nice, despite its fingerprint, dust and smudge attracting gloss finish.
It is as black as the night itself, except for a little blue strip at the bottom, a Netgear logo that glows when turned on and the status lights.
The rear of the unit is where the business is.
Here you can see the 5 Ethernet ports the RJ11 Socket for your phoneline, a USB port, the power port and power switch, and then on the left, you can ever so slightly see the WPS and Wireless on/off button.
It would seem that the router I had been given had been around the block as they say, the box contents had been decimated with only the power plug and an Ethernet cable present. Although if you buy one, you will get all the missing items obviously.
