Summer Games Done Quick 2015
Summer Games Done Quick 2015 is almost upon us. Meaning it’s nearly time to sit back, relax and watch some extremely skilled people blast through classic games all in aid of charity! This years event has been moved in both place and time to provide a more central meeting point for the runners and attendees, taking place in Minnesota during the 28th of July to the 1st of August.
Much like earlier events, this one will hope to raise more money than past years events, and going on last years total raised of $718K I feel it should not be too much to ask, even with the place and time changes.
All of this years donations will be going to the brilliant Doctors Without Borders, which means that the event will once again have a monumental impact on efforts to help people around the world. Donation incentives and the generosity of the watchers will play a big impact the total raised but it is truly a brilliant cause to donate towards.
Again there will be the hope of WR runs; I cannot wait for the runs of Tetris: The Grand Master, even if they will be on at 12AM on a Tuesday….They were absolutely insane at the last GDQ event. One big change is that the event is not ending on a Final Fantasy run, for this year one of Square’s truly great games Chrono Trigger will be played start to finish, with an incentive for 100% completion, by Essentia and puwexil.
A full schedule that converts to your timezone can be found over at https://gamesdonequick.com/schedule and I implore you at least check out some of the runs, maybe your favourite game is on the list, if so you can see it beaten each way from Tuesday in near fastest possible time.
