Play Expo 2014 Here I Come!

Yes you heard that right, Dave Plays will be heading down to Play Expo once again, this year I will be going down to cover the event as well as have fun, and hopefully not spend any money – Only 6 weeks or so away until I can get my hands on lots of beautiful retro consoles and games. ^.^

My friends from www.awildsnorlaxappears.com will also be making an appearance with head Geek! Neil taking some of the troupe down.

If you see me (I’m the guy in the middle at the back) pop across and say hello! I will be taking as many pictures as my poor camera can take.

This years event looks to be a massive improvement over previous years. With the inclusion of a Comic Con vibe in the Screen.Play section, where they will be having guests from cult classic Red Dwarf!

Re.Play

Re.Play is what started it all, with hundreds of classic games out on display to actually play with at the event. This year it is back with a vengeance with a classic gaming LAN, arcade cabinets (maybe this year we will beat that game Dan)  the previously mentioned traders and guest talks from classic game devs as well.

Pro.Play

Pro.Play makes a welcome return, with free to enter tournaments on lots of different consoles, I for one welcome the chance to avenge my humiliating defeat in Street Fighter.  The Funstock Classic Gaming Championships are also being held with the Grand Final taking place, with the winner being crowned the UK’s greatest ever retro gamer.

Cos.Play

Talks, workshops and competitions, what more could an aspiring Cosplayer want at a convention, well how about Artists and even more traders? yep you are exceptionally well catered for at the Play.Expo this year, I want to see the best costumes ever this year!

Oh and as Yogurt once said, merchandising! but unfortunately I don’t think we will be seeing a Play Expo Flamethrower…..
