GAMDIAS HEBE M1 RGB Gaming Headset – Review
Conclusion
This is another GAMDIAS product I am impressed with. The sound quality is top notch and the headset has a remarkably robust feel.
The cable on the GAMDIAS may be an odd thing to praise but it is brilliant, I really enjoy braided cables but have had a number of them fray over time so the plastic coating and general thickness makes for a super strong and resilient cable overall.
Surprisingly the GAMDIAS HEBE M1 is available for a really nice £44 from the good people over at CCL Computers (probably a limited time only) For this price this headset is a hard one to beat.
Although as with anything it is not without its flaws….
The in-line control is far too large and whilst easy to use is a bit cumbersome.
The fact this headset is USB only means that you can’t plug it into a dedicated soundcard so you are stuck with the inbuilt one. The audio quality is good but it would have been nice for it to have been a separate USB dongle style sound card so you can use your own if wanted.
The lack of any adjustment to the earcups, no matter how comfy they are, is a bit annoying as I like to occasionally have one ear free when listening to headsets. When attempting this on the GAMDIAS HEBE the whole headset twists.
Lack of gold plated connector, I wouldn’t normally pick on this but as it is stated in the marketing bumpf and box the fact it doesn’t actually have one is a bit weird.
I did mention this to GAMDIAS and it seems that the marketing is the part that is wrong.
So, in the end it is a close but no cigar. The GAMDIAS HEBE M1 is a good headset that you should certainly consider. I am happy to award it the DavePlays.co.uk Silver Award!
