1, 2, miss a few….10!
Microsoft have announced its next operating system release, dubbing the new OS Windows 10.
The video above explains much of the things that have returned to the OS as well as the new features that Microsoft has added to the Technical Preview, which you can sign up for. Windows 10 was announced during a very small presentation, in which a very early build of the mentioned Technical Preview was demonstrated.
From the video you can see that the much requested start menu is back in, with it combining features from the Windows 8 start menu to make for a more interactive experience. With Live Tiles also being available.
App Store apps will also open like normal desktop applications, such as being able to be resized and shifted around the screen; snapping these apps will allow you to fit up to four individual programs onto one screen and if that is not enough Microsoft have taken a leaf from the multitude of Linux operating systems by featuring multiple desktops, allowing you to keep work and play open and easily switch between the two.
You will be able to sign up for the technical preview, if you feel you can handle a potentially unstable system by clicking this link http://preview.windows.com
